LinkedIn Enrichment Without Clay: Deep vs Wide, 18x More Cost-Effective

7 min readStrategy and frameworks

`LinkedIn enrichment has two modes, and picking the right one is what makes it cost-effective. For deep research on specific people, use Get Profile: full work history, skills, and certifications, at about 100 profiles per LinkedIn account per day. For wide list building, use search: up to 2,500 Sales Navigator results or 1,000 LinkedIn search results per account per day, each with name, headline, About, current role, company, and tenure. With Periodix Actions, deep enrichment is 18x more cost-effective than Clay and about 2x more than popular Apify scrapers.

Key takeaways

  • Deep: Get Profile returns the full profile, about 100 per LinkedIn account per day. Use it for research, personalization, and qualified leads.
  • Wide: Sales Navigator search returns up to 2,500 leads per account per day, LinkedIn search up to 1,000, with enough data to score and reach out.
  • The pattern: go wide with search, score every lead with AI, then go deep only on the ones that qualify.
  • Against Clay, deep enrichment is 18x more cost-effective at 1,000 profiles a month, and 49x if you call Clay from n8n or code.
  • Against popular Apify scrapers, it is about 2x more cost-effective, without cookie sessions that expire or actors that fail when LinkedIn changes.

These limits come from LinkedIn and apply on every plan.

The pattern: wide first, deep second

  1. Pull wide with search. A Sales Navigator search returns up to 2,500 leads a day per account, with name, headline, About, current role, company, and tenure.
  2. Score every lead. An AI step rates each lead against your ICP from its search data. In our own campaigns, scoring before outreach raised acceptance from 10 to 20% for cold lists to 33% (data).
  3. Go deep on the fits. Run Get Profile only on qualified leads for full work history, skills, and certifications, and personalize from there.

This spends the 100 daily full profile views where they pay off, instead of on leads that were never going to qualify.

How much more cost-effective

Deep enrichment, full profiles from one connected LinkedIn account:

Full profiles per monthvs Clayvs Clay called from n8n or codevs popular Apify scrapers
1,00018x49xabout 2x
3,0009x25xup to 5x

Wide list building: every search result counts as one result on Pay-as-you-go, and the Unlimited plan removes the per-result cost entirely, so one account can pull up to about 75,000 Sales Navigator leads a month for a flat monthly price.

How we calculated it, with pricing checked in September 2026:

  • Periodix Actions: $10/month per connected LinkedIn profile with 1,000 results included, and every next 2,000 results for just $10, or $49/month unlimited. Each enriched profile or search result counts as one result.
  • Clay: a LinkedIn profile enrichment costs 0.5 Data Credits and 1 Action. The free plan covers about 200 profiles a month, so 1,000 and more need the paid Launch plan. Since March 2026, Clay's HTTP API, which n8n or your own code would call, is only available on the Growth plan.
  • Apify: popular LinkedIn profile scrapers charge per 1,000 profiles, more with email search or on lower plans, and some add a fee for every run, including test runs, or charge per lookup whether a profile is found or not. They run on a monthly plan whose prepaid usage expires, with overage, storage, data transfer, and retries billed on top.

Why one maintained API beats a stack of tools

One API for deep, wide, and outreach. The same key and the same n8n node search LinkedIn and Sales Navigator, deep-enrich profiles and companies, pull post reactions and comments, and send connection requests, messages, InMail, and sequences. Apify has no connection requests or messages at any price, and Clay needs a separate outreach tool.

No actor roulette. On Apify, every task is a different actor from a different developer, with its own input format, output fields, pricing, and maintenance. We ran these actors in production before building Periodix Actions: cookie sessions expired fast, so we kept re-authenticating, and no-cookie runs failed or came back partial often enough that we had to build retries and checks around every step. Cookie-based actors also warn against more than 300 to 500 profiles a day per account. Most popular LinkedIn actors are community-maintained with no SLA, and one popular Sales Navigator search actor logged three outages in 2026 alone. The volume you can actually plan on is far below what they advertise.

One output format that does not drift. Periodix Actions returns the same structured fields across search, profiles, companies, and engagement, maintained by one team. Your n8n mappings and AI prompts keep working when LinkedIn changes.

Account safety you can check. No cookies, no CAPTCHA, no scraper fingerprint. Profile views run with notify turned off, and the infrastructure behind Periodix has lost 0 LinkedIn accounts across 25,000 connected profiles in the last 24 months.

AI agents included. Deep and wide enrichment are available to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client, with no extra plan.

Verified n8n node. Works on n8n Cloud and self-hosted, with ready templates for both modes.

How to run it

Deep: n8n template

Import Enrich LinkedIn profiles in Google Sheets with Periodix Actions, paste LinkedIn URLs into the Input tab, and run it. It skips anyone already enriched, so you can rerun safely. See the recipe.

Wide: Sales Navigator search to Google Sheets

Paste a Sales Navigator search URL into the Periodix Actions node and get one row per lead. See Export a Sales Navigator search to Google Sheets, or the full wide-then-score pipeline in Score LinkedIn or Sales Navigator leads by ICP.

Both from an AI agent over MCP

Connect the Periodix Actions MCP server to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client (setup) and ask:

"Search Sales Navigator for Heads of Growth at B2B SaaS companies in France, score them against my ICP, and get full profiles for the top 20."

REST API

Call search and Get Profile from any script or tool that can send an HTTP request. See the API reference.

Companies too

The same logic works for accounts: Get Company Profile returns industry, specialties, headcount, headcount growth over 6, 12, and 24 months, average employee tenure, HQ and every office, founding year, followers, and website. Researching and AI-scoring companies this way is 15x more cost-effective than with Clay. See Research any company on LinkedIn in one API call.

When you still need Clay

Keep a waterfall enrichment tool for data that is not on LinkedIn: verified work emails, phone numbers, technographics, and funding data. Run it only on the leads that passed scoring and deep enrichment, so you spend credits where they count.

Get started

Periodix Actions is GTM infrastructure for AI agents and automation builders: deep and wide LinkedIn enrichment run as n8n workflows, through an MCP-connected agent like Claude, or over the REST API. Pricing: $10/month per connected LinkedIn profile with 1,000 results included, and every next 2,000 results for just $10, or $49/month unlimited.

Pricing sources, checked September 2026: clay.com pricing and Clay docs on Data Credits; apify.com pricing and Apify Store pages of the most popular LinkedIn scrapers. Plans change often, so check the vendors' pages for current rates.

Frequently asked questions

›What is the difference between deep and wide LinkedIn enrichment?

Deep enrichment uses Get Profile to return the full profile: work history with dates, education, skills, languages, certifications, followers, and connections, at about 100 profiles per LinkedIn account per day. Wide enrichment uses search to return up to 2,500 Sales Navigator leads or 1,000 LinkedIn search results per account per day, with name, headline, About, current role, company, and tenure.

›When should I use Get Profile vs Sales Navigator search?

Use Sales Navigator search to build and score large lists, and Get Profile for deep research or personalization on the leads that qualify.

›What are LinkedIn's daily limits?

About 100 full profile views, up to 2,500 Sales Navigator search results, and up to 1,000 LinkedIn search results per account per day. These are LinkedIn's limits and apply on every plan.

›Can I enrich LinkedIn profiles without Clay?

Yes. If the data you need is on LinkedIn, Periodix Actions returns it as structured data you can write straight to Google Sheets with n8n or an AI agent. Deep enrichment is 18x more cost-effective than Clay at 1,000 profiles a month.

›How does it compare with Apify?

About 2x more cost-effective for deep enrichment at 1,000 profiles a month. In our own production use, cookie-based Apify actors lost their sessions fast and no-cookie actors failed often and returned partial runs. Periodix Actions covers deep and wide enrichment, engagement signals, and outreach in one maintained API.

›How much does Periodix Actions cost?

$10/month per connected LinkedIn profile with 1,000 results included, and every next 2,000 results for just $10, or $49/month unlimite

›Do I still need Clay?

For data that is not on LinkedIn, such as verified work emails, phone numbers, and technographics. Run it only on leads that passed scoring and deep enrichment.
