LinkedIn Post Engagers Outreach: 81% Acceptance, 47% Reply Rate
3 min readBenchmarks and data
`Over four months, from May 29 to September 25, 2026, we sent 2,499 LinkedIn connection requests to people who had liked or commented on posts in our niche. 2,026 accepted (81% of requests), 943 replied (46.5% of accepted connections), and 383 were interested (40.6% of replies). We did not use a single cold list.
For comparison, unscored cold lists typically see 10 to 20% acceptance and 3 to 8% replies.
This is a follow-up to our one-week pilot with 344 requests. The pilot showed the signal works. This campaign shows it holds at scale.
The results
| Metric | Count | Of requests sent | Of accepted | Of replies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Connection requests | 2,499 | |||
| Accepted | 2,026 | 81.1% | ||
| Replied | 943 | 37.7% | 46.5% | |
| Interested | 383 | 15.3% | 18.9% | 40.6% |
"Interested" counts replies that showed real interest, excluding neutral replies, objections, and requests for information.
Why post engagers convert
A person who reacts to or comments on a post about a problem has just told you three things: the topic matters to them, they are active on LinkedIn right now, and they are willing to engage publicly. A cold list tells you none of that.
Commenters are the strongest version of this signal. A comment takes more effort than a like, and the comment text gives you something specific to talk about.
How the pipeline works
The leads were sourced with Periodix Actions. The conversation was run by the Periodix AI agent, with the goal of starting a free trial.
- Find posts by topic. Periodix Actions searches LinkedIn posts for topics our ICP discusses. No post URLs needed.
- Pull every engager. For each post, Get Post Reactions and Get Post Comments return everyone who reacted or commented, with name, headline, company, and profile URL, plus the full comment text.
- Filter cheap before scoring expensive. Engagers are deduplicated across posts and pre-filtered by ICP keywords in the headline and company, before any AI call.
- Score with AI. Each remaining engager gets an ICP score from 1 to 10 with a one-line reason.
- Reach out. Qualified engagers get a connection request, and the conversation continues from there.
What we learned
Volume comes from topics, not from single posts. One viral post runs dry fast. Searching posts by topic every day keeps the pipeline full with fresh engagers.
Pre-filtering pays for itself. Most engagers on any popular post are not your buyers. Dropping them with free keyword rules before AI scoring keeps the cost per qualified lead low.
The acceptance rate protects your account. At 81% acceptance, you send far fewer requests per new connection than with a cold list, which keeps pending invitations low. The infrastructure behind Periodix has lost 0 LinkedIn accounts across 25,000 connected profiles in the last 24 months.
